When Andrew happened to me

It was a Saturday afternoon when I prayed and said I give up on dating. 3 hours later my friend, Roy, texted me and asked me if he could buy me dinner. Of course I said yes. It was free food! :) So him and our 2 other guy friends, Paul and Jmor, brought me to this new burger place in Hawaii called 7 brothers, just walking distance from the BYUH campus. We ate and talked and laughed and had fun.

On our way out I was talking to my other friend and then Roy just came up to me with his friend and said, "Hey Anne, I want you to meet Andrew." I shook Andrew's hand and said I was glad to meet him. The next thing I remember was looking at his friends talking to my friends while him and I were just being awkwardly quiet. So I decided to start the conversation to make it less awkward(He may not have felt awkward but I did.) So I asked him how old he was since he looked super young(He really does look super young even until now.) He said he's 18. The moment he said that, in my head I was like, "Oh, he's a premie. Nope." A typical judgement of a BYUH student when they meet a premie. So that was that and then they left.

I got back in my dorm that night and I remember checking my facebook and the first thing I saw was a friend request from Andrew. I clicked on his wall and I remember melting just by looking at his pictures. I stalked him and liked all his pictures. HA! After I accepted his request he messaged me and we started talking. He wanted to hangout with me so I gave him my number so he could contact me.

Sunday, after church my friend was going on a date at the beach and she didn't want to go alone. She wanted me to go with her but then I didn't want to play third wheel so I asked Andrew if he wanted to come since he wanted to hangout with me anyway. So he did and we talked and talked and talked. Oh and by the way, the beaches in Hawaii are pretty romantic I'm telling ya! :)

Up to today I still don't think either of us thought we'd be where we are. I never expected to meet him. He's perfect and I am beyond blessed to have him. I love him more than anything. 3 weeks from how he will enter the MTC and will be serving in the Colorado Springs, Colorado Mission. I am so proud of him and would not have this any other way.

It's really true when they say that the best people come into your life in an unexpected way. I know because it happened to me when Andrew happened to me.
